Still on a high from Saturday!! It was so great to see you all crush it in the Sun Run and get to catch up with you at the Hotel Steyne at our after party. The spirits were high and everyone did such an amazing job. Check out the photos here

I wanted to give a few shoutouts to those that I’ve noticed have been training really hard in the lead up to the Sunrun as well as having a few events coming up in the next few weeks.

the OG's  Fran Bacon, Ally Sheppard, Claire Mayhew, Liz Collins & Lisa Gunn!

Firstly, this group of OG’s! Fran Bacon, Ally Sheppard, Claire Mayhew, Liz Collins & Lisa Gunn! These 5 ladies have really been putting in the work both in the gym and outside of it. All of them consistently getting to run club on both Friday morning and Wednesday afternoon intervals, even doing the sessions by themselves while intervals went on break! Massive congratulations to the 5 of you, you should all be extremely proud of yourselves!

Lucy

Lucy Chambers! Lucy absolutely smashed the Sunrun on Saturday. Getting the 10km done in 58 minutes! Lucy has also been following a running program from our code endurance program. In 2 weeks time, she will be aiming to complete 30kms for her 30th birthday!! This is a massive run and such an awesome way to celebrate your birthday. Good luck Lucy, we can’t wait to hear how it goes!!

Bernie

Bernie Calavassy! Bernie is a new member at code 5 and she’s jumped straight in and has embracedthe culture of our gym amazingly. Bernie ran with her 9yr old nephew on Saturday and they managed to get the 10km run done in under an hour, which for the difficulty of the course and the young age of her nephew, that is amazing! Recently, Bernie has joined our endurance program and on the weekend of April 12th, she will be participating in Sydney’s backyard ultra. For those that don’t know, this race consists of doing a 6.7km loop every hour for as long as you can go! Bernie is aiming for 15 laps or 15 hours, which will result in a massive 100kms of running. We wish you the very best for this race and cant wait to support you every step of the way leading into it!!

Well done to everyone who completed the Sunrun! It was such a cool and fun event and I can’t wait to experience many more with you all throughout 2025!!

If there are any endurance events coming up that you’d like guidance on or a program for, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I know the Hoka Half Marathon is coming up in May, so there’s not a more perfect time to start training for it coming off the back of the high from Manly Sunrun!!
